The funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon, July 13, 2008, in the New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church, McClellanville, SC. Interment will follow in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Shulerville, SC. Friends may call at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER from 5:00 until 7:00 PM this Saturday. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church, PO Box 460, McClellanville, SC 29458 or to Wrenn's Chapel United Methodist Church, PO Box 242, McClellanville, SC 29458.
Mr. Fort was born June 19, 1943, in Shulerville, SC, a son of Arnold D. Fort and Bertie Shuler Fort. He was a graduate of Macedonia High School, a member of Wrenn's Chapel United Methodist Church, and an Army veteran of Vietnam. Mr. Fort was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are, his wife, Harriette Jackson Fort; two daughters, Joli Donnelly and her husband, David, and Anita Fort and her husband, Eddie, all of McClellanville; a son Eddie Taylor and his wife, Inda, of Huger; a sister, Linnie Mae Davis of Moncks Corner; three brothers, Alton Fort of Mt. Pleasant, and Johnny Fort and Joe Fort both of Shulerville; and seven grandchildren, Aaron, Ted, Lindsey, Taylor, Savanna, Parker, and Sully.
