There was a program at my brother Harry's Mass and on the back page was "A Golfer's Prayer." I have no idea who authored this prayer, but I would like to include it here.
God, What is my fascination with this game?
Is it the outdoors; the green fairways, the blue skies, the lakes and trees,
the feel of the breeze across my face?
Is it the friends with whom I play;
their companionship, their encouragement,
the conversation between holes,
the silence as we wait our turn?
Is it the game; the balance between grace
and skill and power,
the striving for perfection, the loft of the ball,
the precision of the putt?
Or, is it all of these, and in these,
meditations about all of life;
harmony, friendship, balance, and,
every once in a while, the perfect shot
and a glorious Amen.
NOTE; I am Harry O'Toole's sister Joanie O'Toole Pacitti. If anyone would like to add a remembrance for my dear brother, please feel free to do so. If you have a photo, please let me know rather than just entering it.
Thank you all.
In July, 2021, someone linked all of the O'Tooles together. I am unhappy with that, but can not change it. Please do not make any changes to my brother's memorial unless you check with me. Flowers and remembrances are fine, just not link. I did those when I created or amended the memorial. Thank you.
