CHICOPEE - John G. Mackechnie, 81, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004. Mr. Mackechnie was born in Chicopee Falls, MA, moved to Lexington in 1953, retired to Cape Cod, and then to Florida. He attended Chicopee High School and American International College. He was a forty-year wholesale clothing sales manager, a 55-year member of the Hancock Church, a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Simon Robinson Lodge. Dorothy Aseltine Mackechnie, wife, Jane Mackechnie Mchugh, daughter, and Helen Prodell Mackechnie wife, predeceased him. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 12 noon at the Hancock United Church of Christ, 1912 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington, MA. in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Youville Hospital, 1575 Cambridge St., Cambridge, MA 02138.
