Leon C. Aber Jr. passed on March 12, 2014 after a long illness. Leon was the oldest of 5 children born to Leon Sr. and Beatrice Parker Aber. His parents and one brother, John Edward Aber predeceased him. Surviving are his brothers Don and Bill of Port Jervis, and one sister, Alice Aber of Clinton, IL.

Leon loved animals and was known as "the dog man" by many in Port Jervis as he was often seen walking several dogs at a time. He was a Christian and long time student of the bible. He loved the Lord. He and his sister would talk for several hours at a time about the bible, testing each other on scripture and discussing beliefs.

Leon was an avid reader and he loved to watch movies. During warmer months he spent a lot of time in his backyard garden relaxing and reading.

He had a heart made of gold and full of love for others. Always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by many, especially his sister.

May you rest in peace my beloved brother, until we meet again! Thank you for all you did for everyone, for who you were and for serving our country. I love you!
