Petersburg - There will be services at 10 am Thursday at St Paul and Apostle Church in New Middletown for John B Markotan, 81, who died Sunday evening at Caprice Health Care Center.
Mr Markotan was born Sept 14, 1924 in Chicago, a son of Bernard and Mary Markotan.
He had been the produce manager for Nemetz Value King for the New Middletown and Boardman stores.
He was a WWII Army veteran. He was a member of the church. the Lions' Club and the Knight of Columbus in New Middletown.
His first wife, Helen Zubeck, died in 1969 and his second wife, Lillian Gossard died in 2004.
He leaves three sons, John Jr of Petersburg, Michael of Struthers and David of Butler Pa; three daughters, Pauline Chrapcynald of Coitsville, Monica Markotan of Boardman and Julie Markotan of Petersburg; a step son; two stepdaughters and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son.
