Funeral services will be held Monday, March 3, 2014, at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. until time for services He will be laid to rest at the Cedar Grove Cemetery on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.
He had worked at Youngstown Steel Mill in Youngstown, Ohio, and he was a carpenter. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Kinne Slaven Post 115 of the American Legion.
Mr. Swiger was born October 11, 1946, in Beverly, West Virginia, to the late Loney Swiger and Verna Binager. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers; Wayne, Dale and Allen Swiger and two sisters; Barbara Mitchell, and Linda Laskey. Surviving family include his children; Jessica Spradlin (and Tony) of Whitley City, Rick Swiger and Adam Swiger, both of Stearns, Kentucky, and a sister Patricia Gentile of Colorado Springs, Colorado. His grandchildren are Caleb and Hallie Spradlin.
