LUTES, William D., 80, of Weirton, WV, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born Dec. 9, 1933, in Hollidays Cove, WV, the son of the late William C. and Myrtle Mae Kruger Lutes.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris Cox; brother, Robert Lutes.

Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church, 25-Year Club of Weirton Steel Company.

He retired from the coke plant of National Steel Corp., Weirton Division.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 60 years, Nancy Roth Lutes; daughters, Pam Szymanek (Tom), Amy Grant (Tim), all of Weirton, WV; grandchildren, Monica Caranda (Mark), Julie Szymanek, T.J. Szymanek, Austin Grant, Morgan Grant; great-grandsons, Jacob and Cole Caranda.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV, where the funeral will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Tim Conrad presiding. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 3301 West Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
