Dau of Drew Alva Hepner and Agnes Elizabeth Blackburn. Betty became the wife of landscape architect & artist Bob Anderson on 2 Sep 1935 in Altoona. They lived in New Jersey where they hand-built a home, developed a garden, & Bob's landscape business, started their family, and Betty taught school. Moving west for a better climate in which to grow Bob's plants, they settled in Enumclaw and established the world renown Anderson Gardens with Mt. Rainier as its backdrop. Betty again taught school, made large numbers of good friends, was active with many groups including garden club, and was a pillar of the local Presbyterian church.

n.b., Some sources do show Betty buried at Alto-Reste Memorial Park, Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania.
