BRONTE D.W. Sims went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday. April 8, 2013, at the age of 71. Private graveside service was held Thursday, April 11, 2013, in Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, Texas, officiated by John Driggers. Services were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. D.W Sims was born in Coke County on Dec. 20, 1941, to R.W. Sims and Daisy Bennett Sims. He was a nursing home administrator for many years as well as a clinical laboratory director and a certified x-ray technician. D.W. loved studying and learning about history. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Jean Sowell, Wilma Gann, Rickie Mixson and their spouses. D.W. is survived by his sister, Johnnie Luttrell and her husband, Tom, of Odessa; along with numerous nieces and nephews
