Dorothy Lee Grinnell, 89, formerly of Newtown, and widow of Aubrey P. Maffett, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2005 at the Kenton Healthcare Center. A native of Bourbon County, she was born May 26, 1916 and was the daughter of the late Russell and Grace Ingram Grinnell.

She was a retired lunch counter employee at Central Bank and a former lunchroom supervisor at Eastern Elementary and
Scott County Jr. High in Georgetown. She was a member of Northeast Christian Church and a long time former member of Newtown Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Phillip (Sondra) Maffett, Richmond; four grandchildren, Aubrey (Nickole) Maffett, Johnda (Robby) Bales, Jordan Maffett and Amy Kearns; a sister, Jane Lehman; two great grandsons, Reese & Alex Maffett; and numerous nephews & nieces. A brother, Bill Grinnell and three sisters, Frances Grinnell, Rebecca Johnson and Mary Smith preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Johnson's Funeral Home, Georgetown, by Dr. Rick Landon. Burial will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens, Bourbon County. Casket bearers will be Donnie Johnson, Durbin Wallace, Ronnie Thomas, Del Biddle, John Wagner and Jim Havens. Visitation
will 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
