She met the love of her life, Orlo (Ace) Aasen while he was in the Navy, and stationed in Philadelphia. It was love at first sight, and they were married six weeks after meeting on June 17, 1944. The couple moved to Mayville, ND where they lived for their entire wedded life of 67 years. Marge and Ace wintered in Arizona for 23 years, and spent many fun-filled summers entertaining at Lake Melissa and their backyard pool. Since being surrounded by friends and family brought her great joy, it was here that she was in her element.
Marge was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family, her church, and her community and served them all faithfully during her lifetime. She touched the lives of many with her genuine selflessness and compassionate spirit. She was a great listener, and shared countless words of wisdom and offered advice in her straightforward fashion, and typically, she was right. Marge was many things to many people, but above all, she was a disciple of God and demonstrated her faith by example. She was the real deal.
Left to cherish her memory are her six children, Bob (Patty) Aasen, Ron (Jeanne) Aasen, Jacquie (Gary) Winger, Peggy Aasen, Wendy (Rick) Soholt and Pam (Jeff Schaefer) Beck; 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, sister Agnes Bebco and sister-in laws Donna Bakkum and Alice Aasen.
She was preceded in death by her husband Orlo (Ace), infant daughter Pamela Grace, her parents, and brothers Jim, John, Bob and Charlie Ferris.
