Maudie Dean Abell, 64, of Silver City, formerly of Tacoma, Washington, and Anchorage, Alaska, died December 29, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs. Graveside services were held Wednesday, January 5, 2005, 2 p.m., at the Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Joe Clardy officiated the services.

Mrs. Abell was born June 23, 1940, in Idabel, OkIahoma to Bill and Clara (Monday) Woods. She was united in marriage to John Harold Abell August 16, 1986, in Anchorage. She operated Maudie’s Cafe in Silver City for three years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Southern Baptist Church.

Mrs. Abell was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. She was survived by husband John of Silver City; sons Nicky Johnson of Sumner, Wash., Ricky Johnson of Spanaway, Wash., and Tim Johnson of Fairfield, Calif.; daughter Marjorie Hall of Kapowsin, Wash.; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; brothers Ron Woods of Missoula, Mont., and Frazer Woods of GaIt, Calif.; and a host of friends.

Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
