Betty Jean was a fantastic cook. She was devoted to her family and children. She loved to sew. She was always even tempered and treated everyone with kindness and respect. If she had a bad day, she didn't show it and always was the same on any day. She was truly a wonderful person. Their house was always the place to go for big family get-togethers. Betty and Junior were generous to a fault. Their door and table was always open. One of their favorite dinners to invite everyone to was a big family fish fry when Junior would come home with a mess of fish.

Betty created the Archie cartoon series after herself and her Oklahoma cousins and all their crazy antics and sent it off to a publisher. She never heard back from them but later that year, the Archie cartoon came out for which she never received credit.
