Della retired last year as a secretary at Veterans Medical Center in Kansas City. Della lived in Lebanon and Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri and in Knoxville before moving to the Kansas City area. Earlier she worked for the General Services Administration, the Department of the Army and the Knoxville Veterans Hospital. She enjoyed collecting antiques, traveling and her beloved cat, Pepper.
Her favorite hobby was going to flea markets with her daughter Janell.
She is survived by daughter Janell, son Steve, a grandson Victor Scott and a brother-in-law Lloyd Tremain.
Her parents, a infant son Lloyd Eugene Van Dyke, a infant daughter Sue Hammer and two sisters, Goldie Sloan and Lily Tremain preceded her in death.
