Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, June 28, 1972 The Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Robert H. Gadway, 44, of RD 1, Pulaski, died June 19 at the House of Good Samaritan Hospital, Watertown. Funeral services were held Friday, June 23 at Taylor Vida Funeral Home at 9 a.m. with a requiem mass at St. John the Evangelist Church in Pulaski at 9:30 a.m. The Reverend Thomas P. Whalen, pastor, performed the ceremony. Burial was in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. He was born March 29, 1928 in Merrill, New York to the late Harry and Maude Peets Gadway. He attended school there and in Lion Mountain. He served in the Army-Air Force during World War II. In 1947 he married Shirley Stevenson in Lion Mountain. They lived in Merrill and Syracuse until 1955 when they moved to Pulaski. He was an instrument repairman for Solvay Process in Syracuse and Schoeller Technical Papers in Pulaski before becoming a caretaker for the State Department of Parks. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Susan) Parkhurst of Pulaski and Peggy, at home; one son, Dennis Gadway of Plattsburgh; two granddaughters; his mother, Maude Gadway; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
