Acie W. "Ace" Dillon, 84, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 23, 2014, surrounded by his family after an extended illness. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00AM Monday, January 27, 2014, at the First Presbyterian Church in Kernersville, officiated by Rev. Clark Vincent. Interment will follow the service at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. He was preceded in death by his infant son, his parents Lillie Mabe and Marvin Dillon, sister Irene Wood, and brother Glenn Dillon, as well as a son-in-law George "Butch" Naylor, Jr. He retired after 33 years of service from Piedmont Aviation, Inc., as Director of Engine Services. Ace's love for his job stemmed from a love of aviation which began with his service in the United States Air Force. This love was only surpassed by his love for his God, his wife and his family. He served as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church and was active in its Easter Egg Ministry for 22 years. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling, working in his yard and garden, and woodworking. The family will visit with friends from 6PM – 8PM Sunday, January 26, 2014, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church Kernersville, 611 Oakhurst St, Kernersville, NC 27284 or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, 27103. Family and friends may view, and sign the guestbook at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com.
