She was born April 16, 1942 in Pine Knot, Kentucky the daughter of the late Henry and Martha Hayes Myers. She was a retired factory worker and member of Brewstertown Church of God.

Her parents, husband French Colwell, son Lonnie Colwell, brother Elbert Myers, and sister Mel Sellers precede her in death.

Survivors include her sons Charles Sellers of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jerry Myers of Newport, Kentucky, daughters Teresa Brewster and Martha Fox both of Knoxville, Tennessee, brothers Joe Myers and Lewis Myers both of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Jerry L. Myers of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, Danny Myers of Killeene, Texas, and Larry Myers of Indianapolis, Indiana, and sisters Ruth Carter of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Louise Brewster of Rugby, Tennessee, and Sue Dick of Marshes Siding, Kentucky. 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren also survive.
