The funeral of the late Mrs. Thomas Godfrey took place in the Parish Churchyard on Saturday afternoon, the Rector (the Rev. A. Chisholme Schofield, R.D.) and the assistant curate (the Rev. R. M. Gibbons) officiating at the church service and at the graveside. The following mourners were present, Mr. T. Godfrey (widower), Mr. & Mrs. J. Carey, Mr. & Mrs. W. Wright and Mr. & Mrs. E. Trowbridge (sons-in-law & daughters), Mrs. Lee, Master Clifford Wright, Miss Ivy Trowbridge, Mr. Hazel Broughton, Miss Chrissie Carey, Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert Broughton, Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Godfrey, Mr. George Carey, Mr. George Heal, Mr. Horace Broughton, Miss Annie Carey, Mr. Henry Carey (grandchildren), Miss Ethel Ryall, Mrs. T . Dowden (sister-in-law), Mr. & Mrs. Samuel Vowles (brother-in-law & sister-in-law), Mrs. Culliford, Mrs. H. Dowden, Mr. Melborne Vowles, Miss Alice Vowles, Mrs. Balch & Mrs. Sandhurst (nephews & nieces), Miss Alice Vowles, Mrs. M. Green & Mrs. W. Godfrey (cousins), and members of the Street Mothers' Meeting and Church Guild. The bearers were Messrs. John Culliford, Harry Dowden, John Dowden, (nephews) Frank Lee (grandson), Joseph Tucker and C. Miles. Some lovely floral tributes were received from various members of the family, and from the Rev. J. Beilby (a former Rector of Street), Mr. Roger Clark, Miss Ansell & members of the Mothers' Meeting, Mrs. Mundy, Mr. & Mrs. Ira Bartlett, Miss Ethel Ryall and others. Mr. Govies supplied the polished elm coffin with brass fittings.
