"DEATH OF DR. BUNTING
Prominent Roxborough Physician Passed Away at His Home
Dr. Ross Richardson Bunting, well-known in medical circles and one of the leading physicians in the northwest section of the city, died yesterday at his home, Ridge and Roxborough avenues, Roxborough, from internal troubles after a serious illness of one week.
Dr. Bunting was born in this city September 21, 1834, and was an only son of Dr. Thomas C. Bunting, an army surgeon during the Mexican War. He attended the public schools and graduated from the Central High School, after which he took his degree of "M. D." at Jefferson Medical College. He subsequently studied for five years in Paris, graduating from the "Ecole de Medicin," of the University of Paris, being among the first to obtain a French diploma. He contributed largely to medical literature.
He was a member of the College of Physicians, the County Medical Society and the Philadelphia Medical Club; was formerly connected with the outdoor Polyclinic and Jefferson Hospital service, and was at the time of his death a visiting physician at St. Timothy's Hospital. He leaves a widow and three daughters."
