ADLEM - In Victoria, B.C. at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on July 6, 1986, Patricia Kathleen Adlem passed away. She was born in New Westminster to Duncan and Olive McRae, a pioneer family in New Westminster. She attended the Duke of Connaught High School in New Westminster and graduated from Vancouver Normal School. She moved to Prince Rupert where she met her husband and taught Physical Education & English. She married Peter Adlem in 1949 and moved to Victoria in 1950 where she taught at Mount View High School for 3 years. She raised 2 sons, Michael and Douglas then attended the University of Victoria where she attained a Bachelor of Education degree. She was a Librarian at Victoria West Elementary School until she became the Librarian at Stelly's Secondary School in central Saanich where she taught until this year. She obtained a Master of Library Science Degree from the University of Oregon and was active with the B.C. Teachers Federation. She has served on the B.C.T.F. Ombundspersons' Committee, on the Saanich Teachers' Assoc. Status of Women Committee and as President of the Saanich Teachers' Assoc. Memorial service in McCall Bros. Floral chapel, Johnson at Vancouver Streets on Thursday, July 10 at 1 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 2206 Richmond Ave., Victoria, B.C.
