Jewell Lucas Davis, 85 of Screven, Ga. died Friday, January 17, 2014 in Golden Living Center after an extended illness. The North Carolina native had lived in Wayne County most of her life, was a member of Lake Chapel Primitive Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was an LPN, enjoyed taking care of others, studying her Bible and working with her daylilies and garden flowers.
Survivors are her husband of 67 years, Elder Reid B. Davis of Screven, Ga.; 2 sons, Robert and Mary Davis of Screven, Ga., Ronald and Patricia Davis of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Mary King of Asheboro, N.C.; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be 11 A.M. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Lake Chapel Cemetery with Jason Deal officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery.
