Actor. His best-known acting role was that of manager and agent 'Reuben Kincaid' on the 1970s ABC musical situation comedy series, "The Partridge Family." Early during his career, he served in the United States Air Force. It was there he dabbled as an entertainer in camp shows, finding he was a hit with the troops. After his service, Madden attended the University of Miami, where he graduated with a degree in communications in 1959. He dove into show business, briefly performing the nightclub circuit. While working a Beverly Hills nightclub he was noticed by Frank Sinatra who recommended the comedian to Ed Sullivan, who signed Madden for three nights on "The Ed Sullivan Show." The appearances would lead to his first acting role on the short lived 1965 television series, "Camp Runamuck." As a character performer, he appeared in numerous television programs during a 50-year career. His many TV credits include, "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In," "Bewitched," "Love American Style," "Happy Days," "The Love Boat" and a recurring role as Basketball Coach Earl Hicks on the sitcom "Alice." In 2007, after retiring from entertainment, he penned his life, 'Reuben on Wry: The Memoirs of Dave Madden.' In his book he revealed that he did not get along very well with Shirley Jones' husband Marty Ingels, and had a limited relationship with her as a result. He passed away in Florida from complications of Myelodysplastic Syndrome.
