Lee E. "Bob" Goering, 88, died Jan. 14, 2014, at Dillon Living Center. He was born March 4, 1925, in Pretty Prairie, to Ernest E. and Bertha E. (Unruh) Goering.

In 1944, he graduated from Pretty Prairie High School. He served in the United States Army from 1944-1946. He was a farmer, and he worked at the Co-Op Exchange in Arlington. He was a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church. On Oct. 18, 1947, he married Winona Maye Hendrixson in Chanute. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Steve Goering and wife Debbie of Greensburg; daughter, Vicki Bainum and husband Rex of Hutchinson; two brothers, Duane and Jim Goering, both of Hutchinson; two sisters-in-law, Linda Hendrixson of Pretty Prairie and Marceline Hendrixson of Buhler; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Goering Moore; two brothers, Cecil and Dale Goering; sister, Glenna Roberts.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Joyce Beam officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by Fort Riley Honor Guard, will follow at Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
