Nettie Hugney, 106, dies at Clearfield
Mrs. Nettie M. Hugney, 106, formerly of Clearfield and Frenchville and most recently a guest at the Mountain Laurel Nursing Center, Clearfield, died at the center on Sunday, Sept. 18, 1994.
She was born on Feb. 27, 1888, in Frenchville, a daughter of the late Prosper and Mary Liegey Coudriet.
Mrs. Hugney was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. She was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Frenchville.
She is survived by her children: Lavena Hughney and Annabelle Mraz, both of Clearfield, and A. Sylverius Hugney, Frenchville; by a niece whom she raised, Lena Gormont of Frenchville; and by 32 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aime Hugney; her children: Cornelius and Ferd Hugney, Helena Magnuson and Mary Jane Mizwa; and these brothers and sisters: Emory, Ellis, Sylverius and Wilfred Coudriet, Emma Koozer, Lena Kovalick and Elva and Edith Coudriet.
Friends will be received at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday until 10 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Frenchville, with Fr. John P. Buzga as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The rosary will be recited tomorrow afternoon at the funeral home.
