Blanche Earnest
Blanche A. Earnest, 84, of Mediapolis, died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at Prairie Ridge Care Center in Mediapolis.
Born May 21, 1921, in Swanwick, Ill., she was the daughter of Robert and Jane Earnest Rushing. On Sept. 13, 1942, she married Emmett Earnest in Kahoka, Mo.
Mrs. Earnest worked for Earnest Brothers Lunchroom, Howell Grocery and Bork dental office, all in Mediapolis.
She was active in King's Daughters.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Gary Earnest of Mediapolis and Alan Earnest of Morristown, Ind.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer and Reuben Rushing, both of Illinois; and two sisters, Isabelle Dawson and Wilma McBeth, both of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The funeral for Mrs. Earnest will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Mediapolis, with the Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for the Mediapolis Community Ambulance and First United Methodist Church.
