She is the second wife of William C. Bedwell, they married Dec. 21, 1849 in Mahaska co. Iowa. She is a pioneer who traveled to Oregon on the Oregon Trail in 1851 with husband and stepdaughter Mary Jane Bedwell who married Charles B. Lane. Elizabeth is the mother of Ada Belle Bedwell born 1864, John Bedwell born 1866, Henrietta Bedwell born 1868, and James Bedwell born 1869. All these children were put in foster homes after the death of Elizabeth. Nothing is known of John, Henrietta died when 6 years old in 1874 . Ada Bedwell said that "John never married", Ada also never married.
