Dorothy was born June 29, 1919 in Clarksville, Texas. She was one of 7 children born to James M. and Ida Watson Blassingame. On September 18, 1943 she married William L. Klas and they shared 37 years of marriage before his passing. She married Charles Yarbrough March 15, 1981 and shared 20 years of marriage before his death on January 26, 2000.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a 70 + year member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sherman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, William L. Klas and Charles L Yarbrough, and 5 brothers, Amos, Woodrow, Tom, David and Willie Lee Blassingame.
She is survived by daughters Dana Anderson and husband George of Sherman, Mary Anne Anderson of Comfort, Texas; son, Jimmy Klas and wife Peggy of Sherman; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lura McCaslin of Tyler; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pat and Glendale Savage along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 2 p.m., in the Chapel On the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to the Kendal Chapel Cemetery Association, Peggy Klas, P. O. Box 246, Southward, TX 76268.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home.
