Jimmy "James" R. Romich, a 70-year-old Round Lake Heights, Ill. resident, died April 26, 2013. He was born in Boise, Idaho on May 26, 1942 to the now late Mike and Pauline (nee Paddock) Romich. Jim served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a former adviser for the Round Lake Beach Police Cadets, a long-time volunteer/caretaker for Spay and Stay in Grayslake, and one of the original members of the Round Lake Area Mobile Eye. He is survived by Madelene, his wife of 34 years, whom he wed July 29, 1978 in Grayslake, Ill.; his children Jaime Holub, Bud (Bonnie) Kowalski, Wayne (Andrea) Kowalski, Julie Paddock, Trisha Peck and Julianna Romich; his grandchildren Steven, Alex, Katie, Austin, Allison, Guiliano and David; one great-grandchild; his siblings Donalee, Johnnie and Sandy; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. His brother Mike preceded him in death. Visitation was set 10 to 11 a.m. May 2 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake. A funeral service was to begin at 11 a.m. with interment following at Avon Centre Cemetery in Grayslake.
