She and Leonard J. Helfrich married in 1956, right after she graduated from high school. They are the parents of two sons and divorced in 1970.
In 1973 she married Louis Frank Mueller in Boulder and they pursued a life of rescuing German shorthaired pointers. Each dog was spay/neutered, housed and obedience trained, socialized, and matched with a forever home. Lou and Eddyce would gladly welcome any rescue back when needed (resulting in 5 Mueller dogs for several years!). During a twenty-five year period, they rescued over seven hundred German shorthairs. It was truly a labor of love. Their legacy lives on .
