Dr. Donald C. Cameron, 84, of Paris, KY, passed away July 7, 2013, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center of complications from heart surgery.

He was the son of the late Maurice and Olive Flora Cameron.

After graduating from Morehead State University, he became a Kentucky State Trooper. He later went on to graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a medical degree. He was a graduate of the Fort Benning Officer Training School in Fort Benning, GA. He served an externship as 1st Lieutenant at the William Beaumont Hospital at Fort Bliss, TX. Dr. Cameron practiced medicine in Owenton, KY, for a short period and then settled to practice family medicine for some 45 years in Owingsville, KY, in Bath County.

Dr. Cameron's love for Owingsville and surrounding communities was immeasurable. His service to the people reached beyond his medical practice.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donald C. Cameron II, and first wife, Marjorie Price Cameron.

He is survived by two sons, Mike Cameron (Sherry), and Daniel Cameron, both of Paris, KY; four daughters, Kimberly Hutchison and Debra Cameron of Paris, KY, Cyndy Harmon (Garey) of Hillsboro, KY; Becky Wallingford (Johnny) of Elizaville, KY; and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by special family member and caregiver Tami Swartz-Cameron of Paris, KY, and Marie Fernandez Cameron of Paris, KY.

Memorial services will be at 11am Thursday at the Clintonville Cemetery with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Price Bros. Funeral Home in Elizaville, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
