Genevieve Abrass Obituary

ABRASS Genevieve Genevieve Abrass, 92, passed away on December 29th, 2013, after living a full and blessed life. She will be so dearly missed, but our sadness is tempered by the wonderful memories that she has provided us, memories of a home filled with warmth, acceptance, support and comfort. She taught all of us quietly by example how to love and care for those around us. In her honor we hope to pass along to our families her caring and tenderness of heart. "Without a hurt the heart is hollow." If we do measure the magnitude of our love by the intensity of our pain, then she was loved very, very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Abrass. They were happily married for 66 years and the warmth of their marriage filled our home. They were partners and friends through every step of their journey and believed every one of their children and grandchildren were a blessing. We also fondly remember her son, Kenny, and sister, Joyce. She is survived by her sister, Mardell; her children, Gary (Elaine); grandchildren, Andrew and Leah (Will Hauser); Karen (Jack Schultz); grandchildren, Krista (James Dugan), Justin (Kristin and great-grandchild, Hudson Frederick), Keriann and Kensey; Mark (Debi); grandchildren, Brandon, Evan and Samantha; and Beth (Donal Hummer); grandchildren, Jake and Natalie. Friends will be received at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road on Saturday, January 4, 2014, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., followed by memorial service at noon.
