Frances was born to Chester Stanley Hersey and ShirleyAnn Callahan Hersey at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton, Wayne, Michigan. She is the oldest daughter of her biological parents.

She got to spend some happy times with her maternal grandfather Callahan, and her Aunts and Uncles, especially her Uncle Patrick, who she was close to, and it was a sad time for her and the family when Patrick was killed by a sniper, while serving in Quang Nam, Republic of Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps on 7 July 1967.

She graduated from Pocatello High School in May 1983. She met David E. Metcalf in Sept. 1988 and They were married in 1990 and spent over 25 years, with him,

She is survived by her husband David, 3 kids, 1 son in law, 1 honorary son, 6 grand kids, her Mom Shirley, Step-dad Tracy, 3 step sisters, 2 half brothers and 3 half sisters, from her mom and 1st step dads relationship.

She was preceded in death by her biological dad, Chester Stanley Hersey, 2 siblings
Robin Marie Hersey, Kelly Joyce Mollett, her paternal grandparents (Hersey),
maternal grandparents (Callahan), 2 maternal Uncles Patrick Richard Callahan,
Edward B. Callahan, as well as step grandparents Mollett and Carter.
