Mattie Mae Strong, 84, of Roanoke died Sunday, October, 11, 1998, at Randolph County Hospital, Roanoke.
Funerla services will be Thursday, October 15, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Roanoke, With the Rev. R. L. Heflin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Hubert Strong; a brother, John Hand of Starkville, Mississippi; five sisters, Alice Howard of Roanoke, Mae Bell Freeland and Sallie Maude Clark of Carrollton, Georgia, Ollie Mae Hand of Gadsden and Annie Elizabeth McCurty of Warren, Ohio; a special niece, Sallie Finch of Roanoke; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Strong; her parents, Jack and Sarah Hand; two brothers, Sam Burpee Hand and Joe Hand; and two sisters, Lillian Elnora Bolden and Ruth Ware.Visitation will be at Clark Memorial Funeral Service on Wednesday after 10 a.m. The body will be placed in the church one hour before services.
