She was born to John Franklin and Mabel Maurine (nee: Stine) Hedrick on December 27, 1915 in Mount Carmel, IL.
She married Clifford H. Fulford on August 24, 1940 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1974.
Melba was a piano teacher.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chester, IL, VFW Auxiliary, National Piano Guild, a Founding Member of the Mississippi Saints Band and a Life member of Beta Sigma Phi (of which she was a Charter Member)
