MERCEDES - Funeral Mass for Victor Barroso will be at 10 a.m. today, Dec. 19, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Mercedes. Burial will be at Ebony Grove Cemetery in Mercedes. Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home of Mercedes is in charge of arrangements.

Victor is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Lazaro and Maria De La Luz Barroso, and one brother, Benigno Barroso.
Victor is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gloria Barroso, and his four children, Rene, Rebecca, Victor Jr. and Lazaro. Also one sister, Guadalupe Barroso, and one niece, Rebecca Montenegro.
He became a US citizen in 1974 and retired from the Mercedes Independent School District.
