Larry Alan Estlack, AKA, Larry Allen – Sign on, August 25, 1949, Muskegon, MI, to Leonard and BoQueen Estlack, sign-off, December 16, 2013, Lansing, MI. He was the first grandchild on the Hogan side of the family, so he could do no wrong!

Larry was very bright and as a young child he was always tearing things apart to see how they worked. He was a straight A student from Kindergarten through his Master's Degree at Michigan State. He was a Muskegon Catholic Central graduate and built their first student run radio station. He also helped to rebuild the Grand Haven Musical Fountain and began his phenomenal broadcasting career in the Muskegon area. His move to Lansing was the start of great things for thousands of people because of his talents and foresight.

A gifted teacher, a selfless mentor, a brilliant broadcast engineer and beloved radio host of All Request Saturday Night for almost 30 years. Larry's passion for broadcasting led him to design and build WSYM TV, Fox 47, WLAJ 53, and scores of radio stations. He later became Director of Technology for the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. More importantly those passions and his intellect inspired countless students and broadcasters across the state to be the very best at their craft.

Larry is survived by his brother, Bill (Diana) of Ossineke, MI; sister, Donna Brazill (Greg) of Cripple Creek, Colorado; Aunt, Maxine Bolton; his nieces, a nephew and numerous cousins. He is also survived by a close friend, Adrian Smith and thousands of fans of his radio show.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and BoQueen Estlack, grandparents and a sister.

He was blessed to have many dedicated friends who supported him through his journey with esophageal cancer. His family is forever grateful for that.

Celebration of life was on January 4, 2014 from the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, Lansing. There was a wake following the service. Interment was Monday, January 6,
in Muskegon, MI.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the Larry A. Estlack Scholarship fund, c/o College of Communication Arts & Sciences, Michigan State University.

Larry was a kind soul and a gentle man, loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed.
