Beloved father of George Edward (Catherine Yale) Abid, Jr., Joanne Danielson and Nicholas Lee (Wendy Skinner) Abid; grandfather of Bridget and Holly Abid, Ralph Anthony Suppa and Cole, Emma and Paige Abid.
George was born in a small mining town in Roslyn, WA on June 13, 1924. He joined the Navy and spent two years in Pearl Harbor. After his enlistment he and Irene Danielson were married in June, 1942 and moved East to Washington, DC where George worked for NASA and then went on to retire from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. He eventually retired a second time after recurring positions with several federal contractors.

George and Irene lived in Silver Spring up until November of 2006, when they moved to Collington in Mitcheville, MD. He became well known and loved for his warm smile and charming personality.
