Venita Belle Shewmaker Devine, age 84, Danville, formerly of Harrodsburg, widow of Roy Devine died Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at the Danville Center of Health after a long illness. Born February 27, 1919 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Grace Tewmey Shewmaker, a graduate of Mackville High School, a homemaker, a member of the Progressive Homemakers Club for several years and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.

Survivors include one son Tom and his wife Verna Devine, Harrodsburg, one daughter Cheri and her husband Larry Cotton, Harrodsburg, five grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, October 24, 2003 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Bro. Don Chase. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, October 23, 2003 and after 7:30 am Friday at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Heritage Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association, or to the Harrodsburg Christian Church.

Pallbearers will be Troy McGinnis, Eric McGinnis, Kristen Devine, Jimmy Overall, Alex Perkins, and Craig Cotton.
