Laura B. Devine, age 80, 125 Castle Heights, Harrodsburg, widow of Maurice J. Devine died Wednesday, August 20th at her residence. Born July 16, 1923 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late John Horn, Sr. and Lillie Rosaline Burns Horn. She was a homemaker, a member of the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, secretary for Training Union, a Sunday School Teacher, and executive board member for the Mercer Baptist Association.

Survivors include a son Glenn and his wife Martina Devine, Mercer Co.; four sisters, Birdie Gooch, Danville, Valeria Kidd, Harrodsburg, Lois Kidd, Lexington, and Mary Traynor, Lexington; a grandson Jason Devine, Harrodsburg; and two great grandchildren, Chase & Kelsie Devine, Harrodsburg. She was preceded in death by a brother John Horn, Jr. and two sisters, Alma Horn and Florence Kidd.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, August 23rd at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. Arnold Moon, Jack Guerin, and Greg Humpert. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday after 5:00 PM and Saturday prior to the service at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund.

Pallbearers are Rex and Mark Kidd, David and Michael Traynor, and Kevin and Michael Horn. Honorary bearers are Miller, Don, Willie B., Billy, and Morris Horn and members of her Sunday School Class at Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church
