Kenneth N. Hartley,80, of Myrtle Point died November 2, 2013, in Roseburg.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 21,2013 at 1 P.M. at the Norway Cemetery.
Kenneth was born to Cecil and Loma Hartley on November 3,1932 in Granger, Washington. They moved to the Myrtle Point area when he was very young.
Kenneth graduated from Myrtle Point High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany.
He was honorably discharged on March 8, 1961. Kenneth went to work for the Coos County Highway Department and worked for them for 24 years, and worked at other construction companies as a heavy equipment operator until he retired five years ago.
Kenneth loved spending time with the family, he taught his children how to fish for steelhead and to hunt. He Enjoyed the outdoors.
He is survived by five children: Kayleen Abel, Kenneth Hartley, Kris Hartley, Jessica Sherritt and Katrina Hartley; two sisters, Eloise Hamilton and Doris Parry. Kenneth is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Kathleen Hartley, two granddaughters, Stephanie and Serena Abel, a nephew Trennon Hamilton and a brother-in-law William Hamilton.
