Gary L Allen, 59, ladies' man, foodie, natty dresser, sports fanatic, accomplished daddy and production supervisor for over the last 25 years, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013. Funeral: Noon Friday, Dec. 13, in Skyvue Chapel. Interment: Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Skyvue Funeral Home. The women in his life were numerous. He particularly fancied smart and pretty women, as he was lucky enough to be surrounded only by girls. He adored his mom, Rachel Allen, the heart of the family. He worshipped his two daughters, who could do no wrong. Later, he treasured his five granddaughters, while always striving to be the papa that his dad had been to his daughters. He had a lifelong love affair with Wolf Brand chili, momma's icing on Ritz crackers, McDonald's sausage and biscuits and Diet Coke. Gary took fashion cues from no one. His signature everyday look was all his: TCU pullover with Wranglers, until they got too tight, and then it was his elastic waist, grey sweatpants always worn above the navel with tucked-in Dallas Cowboys T-shirts. He was extremely passionate about sports. Tom Landry was his idol. He was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Michael Allen, in 2008; and father, Pastor Luther Allen, in 1986. Survivors: Mother, Rachel Allen; daughters, Sandy, and husband, Jason Belcher, and Stacy and husband, Brandon Liebel; grandchildren, Skyler, Saylor, Sydney, Brooklyn and Finley; brother, Pastor David Allen; and Gary's loving friend, Avis Kelley.
