Jerry Lee Manning, 75, of Lynn, IN passed away peacefully, Wed., Dec. 4,2013 at his residence.

He was born June 18,1938 in Lynn to the late Russell James and Myrtle W. (Dohme) Manning. A 1956 graduate of Spartansburg High School, Manning was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. He served with the United States Army Reserve for six years before receiving an honorable discharge in 1967. He was employed for 50 years as a lineman for GTE, retiring in 2006. Jerry also worked his entire life as a self-employed farmer. He was a member of Indiana Farm Bureau and belonged to the IBEW throughout his 50-year career as a lineman.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Bertha Anne (Kerney) Manning; two sons, Brett (Paula) Manning and David (LouAnne) Manning, all of Lynn; one brother, Mike (Nancy) Manning of Richmond, IN; three grandsons, Adam McQueen, Jansen Manning and Dane Manning; two granddaughter, Valerie Manning and Taylor (Gabe) Addington; and four great-grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Myrtle Manning; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Sunday at Oswalt Family Funeral Home & Cremation Centre in Winchester with Pastor Tom Govin officiating. Burial following at Spartanburg Cemetery.
