G.W. MORGAN DIED FRIDAY

George W. Morgan of Mexico, pass­ed away at the General hospital in Mexico Friday morning, July 18th, at 4:20 o'clock following an operation. He had been in poor health the last three months, but his death waa a shock to the family and community. He was admitted to the hospital a week ago.

Mr. Morgan was born near Mt. Sterling in Brown County, Illinois on February 22, 1872, a son of the late Andrew G. and Sarah Smith Mor­gan, and was 76 years, 5 months and 26 days of age at his passing. He moved with his parents to Missouri as a young man and settled on the home place near Molino. On March 1, 1893 he was united in marriage to Miss Mattie Littrell of Molino and to this union six children were born. Mr. Morgan was engaged in farming until he retired and moved to Mexico about fifteen years ago. He was a member of the Santa Fe Christian church.

Mrs. Morgan passed away October 21, 1918 and two children preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Earnest Saulvester, La Crescents, California and Mrs. Oscar Coonce of Portland. Oregon; two sons, Allen Morgan of Center and Irven (Jack) Morgan of Perry: seven grandchildren and six great grand­children; two brothers, James Morgan of Mt. Sterling. III. and William Morgan of Mexico; one sister, Mrs. James Dick of Waynesville, III.
Funeral services were conducted from the Arnold Funeral Parlors in Mexico Monday afternoon at two o'clock by Rev. R. G. Keavis, who had been a close friend of the family for many years. Pallbearers were Tom Morgan, Charles Asher, and James Waterman of Center, Harold Littrell, near Mexico, Charles Weaver, near Santa Fe, and Dewey Blount of Ful­ton. Organ music was furnished by Jerry Baker. Interment was in the cemetery at Santa Fe.
