Edmund was born in Wardsville, Missouri to Herman Winkelmann and Johanna Melies.

Edmund was married to Margaret Raithel on Oct. 19, 1932.

Edmund died when he was only 31 years old.

Edmund F. Winkelmann, 32, well-known resident of the Wardsville community, died yesterday morning at St. Vincent's Hospital in St. Louis after an illness of several months.

Winkelmann was stricken with a serious illness last spring and underwent an operation at the hospital here. He later was taken to the St. Louis hospital for further treatment and appeared to be improving. Saturday morning he suffered a relapse and died at 1:30 o'clock.

He was born and reared in the Wardsville community and was a member of a widely known family of that neighborhood. He engaged in farming for several years and later was connected with the circulation department of the News-Tribune.

Surviving are his widow, who before her marriage was Miss Margaret Raithel of this city; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Winkelmann of Wardsville; two brothers, Bernard and Otto, also of Wardsville; six sisters, Mrs. Al Markway, the Misses Clementine and Geraldine Winkelmann and Mrs. Emma Rackers, all of Wardsville, Miss Bernadine Winkelmann of Richfountain and Mrs. William Pottebaum of Effingham, Ill.

The body was returned here last night and will be taken to the home of his parents in Wardsville this morning. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning there.
