Andrew E. Mortali, age 97, of West Haven entered into rest Wednesday January 18, 2012 at the Masonic Home in Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Anna Grigioni Mortali. Father of Dr. Andrew R. (Diane) Mortali and Robert R. (Marie) Mortali. Brother of Dolores Bertini and the late Orlando, John, Anthony and Joseph Mortali, Mary Fontana and Alba Gianotti. Grandfather of Robert R., Craig L. (Paula), Gina L., Drew, Christopher, Micah (Elena), Christina and Miles Mortali and Katie (Brian) Straub. Great Grandfather of Derek A., Anna R. and Stryder K. He was born in New Haven, September 20, 1914, son of the late Guiseppe and Cristina Iacomacci Mortali. Before his retirement he was the chief mechanic for the Orange Street Bus Line. He was a lifetime member of the Marchegian Society. The hours for visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home Saturday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony's Church at 10:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Masonic Home & Hospital, PO Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492.
