Mr. Dyer was born April 12, 1909, in Astoria, Ore.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II in the South Pacific.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 16 in Portland.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys E. Kurtz Dyer at home; one daughter, Patty McCrary of Kalama; and two grandchildren.
His body will be cremated.Private interment will be in Riverview Abbey Mausoleum in Portland.
