Mrs. Martha Jean Efurd, age 86, a resident of Dothan died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Westside Terrace.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Hartford with Reverend Jeff Ross and Reverend Tommy White officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Church cemetery with Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. in the Glover Funeral Home Parlor. Mrs. Efurd's body will lie in wait one hour prior to services in the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pathway Baptist Church, 3551 Flowers Chapel Rd., Dothan 36305.
Mrs. Efurd was born September 5, 1927 in Hartford, the daughter of Hubert and Neda Peacock Pelham. She was a former member of Hartford Baptist Church and presently a member of Pathway Baptist Church in Dothan. Mrs. Efurd retired from Geneva County elementary school, having worked in the lunchroom.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Enoch Efurd; son, Daniel Joseph Efurd; brother, Ernest Pelham and sister Sybil Hicks.
Survivors include her son, Ed (Jan) Efurd, grandson, Ben Efurd; granddaughter, Haley Pollard; great-grandchildren, Lexi & Cayden Pollard; sister, Myrna Loy Peacock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Ben Efurd, Robert Efurd, Gaston Efurd, Alex Hicks, James Edward Hicks and Bill Rosser.
