Mr. Baker, son of Dewey and Ruby Mae (Coe) Baker, was born October 31, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri. He had retired from General Motors. Mr. Baker had been a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Methodist Church in Vandalia, Missouri. He was a veteran of World War II having served for both the U. S. Navy and U. S. Army.
He was married to Irene Boicourt in 1946 and she preceded him in death on February 22, 2011.
He is survived by two nieces, Mary Alderson and Carol Dodson, both of Venice, Florida.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and three children: Jerald Hayden Baker, Richard Lee Baker and Francesca Jane Baker.
Visitation will begin at noon Sunday, November 24, 2013, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jared Hancock officiating. Burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery in Middletown, Missouri.
