Norma Rose Butcher, 89 of Clyde died Sunday November 17, 2013 at her home. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in the Clyde Cemetery with Dr. Toby Henson officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral home.
Mrs. Butcher was born June 3, 1924 in Pattonsburg, MO to Chloral and Belle (Heath) Sturgis. She married Ora Butcher in Hattiesburg, MS. December 12, 1942. Mr. Butcher was born November 27, 1922 in Pattonsburg, MO to Ora Lee and Rosie Florence (James) Butcher. They both grew up in Pattonsburg and attended Pattonsburg Shools. Mrs. Butcher was an Inventory Manager working for Robbins Lighting Protection for 15 years. Mr. Butcher attended the University of Missouri, Columbia and was a County Extension Agent for Holt County, MO, worked for Production Credit Association, 4x4 Feeds, Farm Land Industries and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Maryville, MO after over ten years of service. Following retirement they moved to Bella Vista, AR in 1988 where they enjoyed playing golf and were members of The United Methodist Church. Ora Lee Butcher died Thursday November 7, 1996 in Carmichael, CA. at the age of 73. Mrs. Butcher moved to Clyde from Bella Vista, AR in 2006 where she remained till the time of her death.
Mrs. Butcher was preceded in death by three brothers, Steve, Gordon, and Coleman Sturgis and one sister Vada Sims.
