"William W. Smith, well known in the town of Phelps where he had lived for a considerable time, died at the home of Mrs. Louise Ridley, near Five Points, on Monday morning, aged 87 years. The survivors are one son, Jesse M. Smith of Geneva, one sister, Mrs. H. M. Gray of Summit, N. J., and two grandchildren, Mrs. J. L. Nichols of Rochester and Floyd W. Smith of Geneva. The funeral was held at the home of Mrs. Ridley on Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. J. B. Felt, pastor of the Oaks Corners church officiating, and interment was in Pine Wood cemetery, northeast of this village."
